Legacy Giving
What is a “Legacy Donation”?
A legacy donation, also commonly known as planned giving, is a charitable gift coming from a will, trust, or RRSP. This type of donation shows your personal values, reflecting the causes that you’re passionate about, while also supporting the long-term operational health of Shekinah Homes Society.
Legacy giving ensures that our organization can continue to support adults with disabilities in an inclusive community that feels like home.
How do I leave a “Legacy Donation”?
To leave a legacy donation, you can name Shekinah Homes Society in your will. Alternatively, you can name our organization as a beneficiary of an RRSP or trust. Whatever the case, speaking to a financial and/or legal advisor can help you determine what your legacy giving options are.
Benefits of Legacy Giving
Like any charitable donation, a legacy donation from your will can offset or reduce any payable taxes after a donor’s passing.
